I've been skating in them a lot since I got them and REALLY love them! Didn't have a break in period either! Was able to get them tight enough with only 1 pair of socks as well, harder with other skates. |

I play roller derby and use these skates almost on a daily basis. The boots are extremely comfortable and well fitting with no break in time. The red Tuner wheels are a bit slippery for polished concrete surfaces. To establish a little extra grip without loss of speed, I use outdoor grippy wheels for the inside (pusher) wheels of both skates with the red Tuners on the outside. The standard bearings shipped in these skates leave a bit to be desired. I upgraded to a skate rated bearing and experienced much improved speed and coasting. Definitely expect to upgrade the bearings if you are looking to purchase these for a competitive sport. I also upgraded the foot inserts to a more supportive, sport-use rated insert as the stock inserts are nothing more than 1/8" thick flat felt pads. Overall, great skates at a decent price with excellent, made in the USA, quality. |

I'm a Derby Girl. I love the skates- super comfortable. I wear an 8 street shoe and despite Skates.com telling me to only go down 1 size, a Riedell rep told me to go down 1.5. I ordered a 6.5 which fit perfect. Laces go right down to the toe, so you will need a toe cap or duct tape. Padding in the tongue is a great feature. My big issue is that these are HEAVY! For aluminum plates, these are bears. I think the ship weight is 10lbs on them. Also, the stock wheels (92)are a bit soft for derby. I probably should have upped them to 95/96.I wish the toe guards were offered in either red or black. I didn't buy them from here because they were blue. |

These skates are super comfortable and not to heavy considering the plates. The padding on the tongue makes it so much more comfortable than most. I bought these about 2 months after I started skating in R3s and these are SOOO Much better. |

I use the skates for indoor skating; however, I do plan to switch out the wheels for outdoor as well. The skates are very comfortable and a size smaller than one's shoe size for a woman is perfect. I went on line and found a variety of lacing options. The 'zipper lacing' worked well with the extra holes toward the toe of the shoe. The skates are easy to maneuver in. Even though I wanted the skates, I was very apprehensive about whether they would be right for me as a person over 60. I tried them out as soon as I got them and I wouldn't trade them for any other pair! [...] |
